What Is a Cooperative?

A cooperative enterprise is one that is run jointly by its members, working toward a common goal.

Becoming a Member

When you register your child with Metcalfe Cooperative Nursery School, you become a member of our Cooperative. An executive committee of parent volunteers, like you, runs our cooperative. Together, we work closely with all members of the nursery school, the Director, the teachers and the community.

Your Responsibility as a Member

You may choose to volunteer on the executive committee, act in a coordinator role or to serve on a committee. Regardless of the role, all cooperative member parents are asked to volunteer in some capacity and during specific times through the year. When you register, you agree to comply with all of the nursery school regulations and to participate fully as a cooperative member as outlined in the Parent Participation Agreement.
